Are you one of the many affected by Staingate? Do you have a Macbook or Macbook Pro with a Retina display with spots on the display that you just can't get rid off? Or is it progressively getting worse?Thousands of customers have reported on various Apple support communities and forums of the issue and thousands more have signed a petition at Change.orgApple has quietly responded and  has released an internal notice about a new Quality Program to deal with the anti-reflective coating problems on Macbooks and Macbook Pro models with the retina display. This anti-reflective coating is wearing off or deteriorating under certain circumstances.

It's not posted on their website, but Apple will replace the affected Retina display at no cost to you for a period of three years from the original purchase date or one year from October 16, 2015, whichever is longer. Any customer that may have already paid for an out of warranty repair may be eligible for a refund though AppleCare support.Customers that are affected can book an appointment with the "Genius Bar" or visit an Authorized Service Provider to determine if their Macbook is eligible for a replacement.
